Why don't my links or images work?
Make sure the path to the file is correct. Your HTML code should not be referring to your personal computer A drive or C drive.
Check the file names. File names are case sensitive and no spaces and punctuation marks are allowed. Some programs will change your filenames to all capital or all lowercase letters when uploading.
Make sure the extensions are correct. You can use .htm or .html but when you make links you have to use the exact file name. Why are my images displayed as broken links? Assuming the image files have been uploaded to the server, the problem is likely:
- The path to the image that you specified in the page. Your HTML code should not be referring ot your personal computer A drive or C drive.
- Check the file names. File names are case sensitive and no spaces and punctuation marks are allowed.
- Make sure your extensions are correct. Web page graphics are typically .gif and .jpg.
If you are using a web site package like Joomla or WordPress, you will want to consult that package's documentation for further assistance.
A search for "[Package name] support," or a search of the problem will likely provide results for your particular issue.
